We were one of the unlucky few that decided to pick up the "Android Dev Phone 2" from HTC for development purposes in 2009 and now are stuck with v1.5 without a proper upgrade plan to v2.1. I find it quite frustrating that instead of being supported for being on the "bleeding edge" with Android developer program, we are actually being penalized since few other Android phones including Nexus are out in the market and have v2.2 out of the box.

I would have expected much better support for the developers that took the challenge to be the "guinea pigs" for Android development program.

As a G1 owner, I second Jolie’s opinion. We really need a new device similar to the G1 but significantly upgraded RAM, CPU, and camera wise. The closest thing to the perfect android phone is the NexusOne or the HTC Incredible, which both lack hardware keyboards. Hope this open letter gets your attention.
