Verizon Fascinate Review

Ah the final chapter of the Galaxy S lineup, the Verizon Fascinate. Verizon was a little late to the party with their version, but better late than never, right?

Anyway, the Fascinate is your typical Galaxy S phone, featuring that beautiful 4in 800×480px, Super AMOLED display, blazing 1GHz Hummingbird processor and roomy 16GB of internal storage. Another nice feature of the Fascinate that two out of the four Galaxy S phones don’t have (Captivate and Vibrant are missing this) is an LED flash for the 5MP camera.

That’s really the only thing different about the Fascinate when compared to the other Galaxy S phones (hardware wise) so let’s unbox the Fascinate and get this review started.

Well considering it’s the only Galaxy S phone to have Bing, I’d classify that as most unique. I also listed it as a con so I’m not exactly pleased with it either.

And even tho it doesn’t come with Google Maps from the store, you can download Google Maps from the market, install it, and it works just fine :)

Bing is the Fascinates “most unique feature”???

Wow. Way to sugar coat that one. It is an offensive move by Verizon to eliminate customer choice and bastardize Android. I hope Google starts licensing Android and tells Verizon to F-ck Off.

Well then what the hell good is this phone then why get this one over well say over a Droid x

  4. Jason says:

Google search had been removed from samsung fascinate along with google’s turn by turn navigation along with google maps.

  5. Jason says:

Apparently you haven’t been paying attention to twitter our android tech buzz. The rumor mill so far is that VZW might be pushing for Bing only. But the Fascinate as we speak is the only search engine available right now. Thedroidguy@twitter says to go and report bing as malicious. But that’s what is in fact going on right now bing as far as the search widget & default search is bing only on the Samsung Fascinate.

  6. curse says:

I really doubt Microsoft Bing is the ONLY default search you can use, if it’s default in any way.. it is a Google phone after all

  7. Jason says:

Ok everywhere I’ve read anything about that Fascinate it only has 2 gigs of internal memory. One of the dumbest things & reasons that its the worst phones in the galaxy lineup. That & bing being the only default search you can use & no front facing camera. Ridiculous. So someone if I’m wrong correct me but I’m pretty sure that it only has 2 gigs if internal memory.
