If it’s one factor that most Android devices need to have a little help with, it’s in the camera department. That’s why I wanted to let you guys know about Amazon’s free paid app of the day, Photo Boost Pro. This photo editing app permits you to improve and tweak your photos by boosting colors, growing detail, even applying an HDR impact and exports your photos in full resolution. I was surprised at how this was surely 1 of the far more user friendly photo editing apps I’ve come across.
Usually the app is $ 5 in the Android Marketplace but you can download it for Totally free in the Amazon Appstore. Don’t forget to leave a comment following giving it a spin and if you recommend something else, let us know as nicely. Cheers!

Upon seeing these days’s Amazon Free App of the day, I was instantly taken back to time exactly where taxes, mortgages and working a hard 40 hours per week meant playing til the sun went down. Frogger, an instant classic given that the day it was written has made its way to the Android platform in style. The Atari classic can be snatched up as today’s featured free of charge Amazon app. This is not a mock up of the original application, it is the actual deal manufactured by Konami. The game and play is virtually identical to the original. And just as the original, you will have to dodge speeding vehicles and trucks, hop on logs and turtle backs, all to reach the riverbank with out becoming road splat. There are slide controls accessible for fluid movement in addition to being able to just tap, no require for joysticks in this day and age. Carry the female frogs to safety and earn bonus points as you eat flies on your way there. And unlike the original, the developers added a “Phantom Phroggie” mode.
An intriguing twist in this version is Phantom Mode, which guides you during the game by showing the route you took in your finest game. In regular mode, you can post your high scores on the internet and see who the best guns are with OpenFeint. Pleased hopping!
So, what are you waiting for? Did we mention it’s no cost? If you’re not at present rocking Amazon’s App Shop, you can grab the download here by entering your e-mail address or phone number in the upper right hand corner for a download link. Be sure to have the “unknown sources” box checked off under Settings—>Applications on your Android device. Hit the break for a few screen shots for reminiscing. Read More…

The Flying Penguin best free game Android App by Top Free Games – Best Apps is an game in which you are a penguin who is trying to catch fish for food, while at the same time outrunning a polar bear before you become his food. The game is a level based, angry bird’s type game, where the faster you pass through the level and the more fish you catch the more points you earn. The on screen controls are touch and gravity based and very easy to learn. The graphics on the game are average; they do however offer an option for enhanced graphics depending on your phones graphics processor.
When you open the app you will see the main menu and you will only be able to select one level in the lite version as the paid version will offer additional levels. The game will start with the penguin on the top of the mountain and you will tap on the screen and hold down to keep the penguin sliding on the mountain. As the penguin nears a mountain top release your finger from the screen and watch the penguin fly across the screen. Make sure to time the jumps and control when the penguin lands to ensure you catch the most fish possible.
Overall, this is a great causal game for the Android platform. At the time of this review Flying Penguin best free game Android App has a free and paid version available for $ 0.99. Thumbs Up.

DotGov, a Seattle startup, has launched YouTown, a mobile platform designed to boost communication between governments and citizens.
YouTown is a free mobile platform for all cities, counties and govt agencies, making it easy to connect with your citizens on the go.
The platform, which includes an iPhone app, allows cities and counties to publish news, events, maps and calendars from multiple agencies directly to citizens’ mobile devices. The service also can incorporate Twitter and Facebook feeds, and is easily personalized depending on the needs of the government. You can also use GoogleMaps to create your own maps with place-marks, lines, or shapes.
“This is a big step towards mobile government,” said DotGov founder and CEO Michael Riedyk. “Cities won’t have to worry about developing their own apps for different departments and agencies. They can now sign up at YouTown.com and go mobile within a few hours without any costs.”
New York, San Francisco, and Portland are actively promoting open source data bases that can utilized by independent developers to create all manner of useful applications.
OpenStreetMap has good map data in this region, and the Humanitarian OSM Team is on hand to help. CrisisWiki is an editable directory of resources related to disasters and crises around the world. Portland’s Humaninet, has a Maps 2.0 team using Google Maps tools. Groups like Mercy Corps are among the first to move.
Portland’s TriMet transportation system has been a leader in data sharing.
By making data on public transit accessible, TriMet has allowed for the creation of more than 35 phone applications since 2005.

I just saw the official T-Mobile Twitter account post that they have several phones available for the next six hours for FREE with new account or eligible upgrade. Visit this page to see the deals that include the Nokia Astound. I would love to pick up one of these, but I already have five lines on T-Mobile and none are currently eligible for an upgrade.
I wish that carriers would offer some kind of discount to existing customers who are still within their contract because that would give us incentive to continue signing up for future contracts knowing we could get the latest and greatest phones rather than having to wait every two years for any kind of discount.

Pootermobile is back again with a slick new BlackBerry theme called Rubus. As always Poots had his thinking cap on when he designed this theme, and he added some innovative features that aren’t found elsewhere. For example, he kept Universal Search on the home screen, which many other theme developers have removed. What really sets Rubus apart from the others is the addition of widgets, which allow you to add or remove the calendar, weather slot, and icons on the home screen. The ability to customize a theme to your liking right on your device is really cool!
Other features include:
- Customizable icons on home screen – (5 for keyboard devices, 8 for touchscreen devices, 4 for the BlackBerry Style)
- Weather widget 1st position in the applications screen – (weather application of your choice required but not included)
- Widgets Options Page – click the options icon on the bottom left banner
- Universal search on home screen – (only for devices running BlackBerry 6)
- Wallpaper friendly
- No carrier
- Transitions throughout
- Trackpad on the home screen for the Torch has been disabled because of a conflict in the Widgets page.
Compatible devices include BlackBerry: 8900 (Curve), 8910 (Curve), 8930 (Curve), 8980 (Curve), 9000 (Bold), 9500 (Storm), 9530/9530T (Storm), 9550/9520 (Storm2), 9630 (Tour), 9650 (Bold), 9670 (Style), 9700 (Bold), 9780 (Bold), 9800 (Torch)

Just over a week ago, we posted on a new game from XIMAD called Bubble Birds Premium. The game is similar to your classic bubble popping game, but with birds and in bright colors. You simply match 3 or more of the same colored birds together to pop them off the playing area. We just got word that the game is now available in a free version. The free version does contain ads, but they don’t seem to be too annoying or intrusive, and hey, its FREE. Oveall the game is a great time waster, and quite addictive. You can pick it up for most devices running OS 4.6 and up.
