Seems Cyanogen and team have dropped a new test build of CyanogenMOD 5.0.8-DS for the dream/sapphire devices. Cyanogen announced via twitter that this would be the last test build before a new stable release. These recent test releases have really improved upon 5.0.7-DS and I highly recommend them, especially now that it includes @anderwebs excellent ADW Launcher as a true launcher replacement. Be sure to check out the settings for that launcher, which can be found in Setting -> ADW Launcher, as this launcher replacement has almost EVERY option you can think off.  To top it off, they finally fixed the random “musical party in your pocket” bug!

-Added 2/3G Widget to toggle between the two when not using 3G. (Battery Saver.)
-Added new Genie widget from LostEden with new weather icons.(Nice looking)
-Added reboot widget back
-New boot for the time being…something new for this one. I’ll go back next build.
-A few more things

Everything from 1.4.3 applies in regards how to setup launcher for speed.
Once dialer is in memory it takes around two to three seconds to load.
Much more, can’t remember.

** SPEED ALERT **
Do not run this ROM if you are afraid of speed.

htcclay has released an update to his SuperBadCM5 ROM for the T-Mobile G1/T-Mobile MT3G now at version 1.3G7. This latest release is updated from CyanogenMOD CM5 Test 7 ROM.

I have no idea how htcclay has modified this ROM from the CyanogenMOD base, but it feels like the fastest ROM I have ever run on my G1.  Faster than any Donut based ROM i have ever run.

-This is the Themed Black Version.
-Removed JIT for this build. Only improvement I saw were linpack scores.
-CC enabled in Spareparts is sufficient as far as I can tell.
-Not sure how swap will act with this. If you like.. add a Userinit to sd and reboot to see.
-Camera preview is now fixed.
-Added Gallery and kept 3D Gallery for the time being…
-Removed Media Gallery from Moto.
-Recent apps can be configured in SpareParts.(Apps open while long pressing the home button.)
-You are able in SpareParts to change system colors.

I guess this one slipped through the gaps but BenBuchacher released a new version of his SuperD ROM bringing it to version 1.11. This version was released about a week ago but somehow missed an AndroidSPIN release.

HTCClay has released an update to his SuperBadCM5 ROM for the T-Mobile G1/T-Mobile 3G not at version 1.1GJ.  This latest release is updated from CyanogenMOD CM5 Test 2 ROM .

This is a full ROM so no previous install is required. All Google Apps are included so a single flash should have you all setup and ready to Rock and Roll.

- Added new android Bios Boot animation posted by frysee.
- Added JIT. And this guy is smooth…
- Added latest Music.apk from eliotstocker.
- Added Latest Beta 6 from AnderWeb.

I added a lot to this one. You’ll be able to see as soon as you flash.

I always turn animations on fast in spareparts. It really opens it up.

ChiefzReloaded has released an update to his CR_Slide2G1 BETA for T-Mobile G1/T-Mobile MT3G taking it to version 0.06.2

- Camera is fixed, preview is B/W… i have an idea as to y and will release a patch… but the pics r in color
- Dark video problem, driver issue… is now fixed, videos should be bright again
- Removed pdf viewer as u can replace on the market
- Removed IM app due to mem issues… i suggest Meebo from the market
- Set CPU 1.52 has been added for simplicity in overclocking. If u like it please support the dev by purchasing the donate version in the market. Set speed to performance 528 max and this thing is FAST!!
- Removed Faves/Faves Widget as it wouldnt function properly (if i can get it fixed u will get a flashable zip update)
- Battery drain issue should be fixed now… let me know ur personal experiences….
- Flash 10.1 for G1 is something im looking to patch for G1 users, try the included Skyfire Beta browser as it has its own flash…
- Removed Stock and News apks as they were causing some sort of lag issues on G1… remember, the market is ur friend
