Over the weekend we were tipped off to an FCC filing for a certain Motorola device with the model number T225. From the looks of the label placement and outline of the device we are guessing it corresponds to some sort of tablet, but unfortunately this isn’t one of the more fruitful FCC filings we have ever seen. The obvious guess is the Motorola XOOM, but a quick search of the model number returns little in terms of results. The T225 might suggest the device indeed uses a Tegra 2 processor inside. With nothing much left to go on we can only speculate. Look like the Motorola XOOM to you? A second, unannounced tablet perhaps? It might even be just another Android phone (that we may or may not have seen yet). Whatever it is it received its approval at the end of December.

An image has popped up showcasing a slightly different look for the Motorola Droid X, but your guess is as good as ours in terms of what the device might actually be. What looks like a silver or white bezel and system buttons panel accents a casing that may or may not be colored a dark grey (could just be a trick of the light). Is it an abandoned color scheme for the Droid X? An upcoming special edition variant? Some speculation throws in the obligatory “might have 4G” comments, but that seems unlikely. Given what we see it’s a safe bet it isn’t a Droid C3PO to go with the Droid R2-D2…

This Verizon-bound HTC Slider isn’t due to be released until sometime next year; lucky for us the detail leaks are starting early. The images above come from the standard FCC testing.
Still going under the development name PD42100, FCC testing reveals the device is capable of CDMA 2000 and GSM 850 plus EV-DO Rev. A, Bluetooth and 802.11b/g/n WiFi at 2.4GHz frequencies. No word yet on the the rumored 1.2GHz processor or 4-inch display, but given the handy dimension reference, it’s a given the display is going to be big.
Overall, it looks like it’s going to be a very nice slider. I wonder if this points to a trend of moving back towards more physical keyboards. What do you guys think?

Thanks to an anonymous tipster, BGR has just received these images of a device that resembles the HTC Evo, but with a more luxurious look. This device is said to be heading to Verizon and I must say, I’m extremely jealous. The tipster didn’t say if this was going to be a world phone, but judging by the Verizon roadmap it will be. The sleek design fitted with brushed aluminum accents make this one sexy device. Any one else thinking the HTC Merge?
Judging by the looks of this device, we can see:
- 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash
- kickstand
- 4.3-inch screen
- 3.5 mm headphone jack
- front facing camera.
There is no release date or name yet, but as this device circulates around the community we’re bound to hear something else. Take a look at more images of this device below.

Since the word "monolith" has been making vast amounts of headlines today, we figured we’d toss in our thoughts on the mysterious pillars that have shown up in some AT&T stores recently. AT&T employees have been silent on the matter, some folks are even saying they have been sternly warned to not even joke, nor talk about the possibility of what may be underneath.
Many conclusions have been drawn up as to what it may be. It could be the Android packing Dell Streak, it may also have something to do with the upcoming Windows Phone 7. Some have even gone so far as to say it may be iPhone 4 related but that seems a little off base, since the iPhone 4 has already launched. Of course, this being CrackBerry and all; we’d like to think it’s related to BlackBerry 6 and the upcoming BlackBerry 9800 aka Torch release. How frack’n cool would it be too see a huge Torch underneath there! Either way, time will tell what it is. I just hope it’s something really cool for all the hype it’s received thus far.
