Scotiabank revised interest rate outlook, no rate hike til Sept 2011
Economists at Bank of Nova Scotia said Friday they expect Canada’s central bank to refrain from interest rate hikes until September of next year, as additional liquidity injections by its peers in advanced economies and slower U.S. growth would “handicap” the Bank of Canada’s flexibility

Anticipation is building around the event that HTC have announced in London for next Wednesday. This event has become so popular that the Facebook page now has 409 listed as attending. So I thought I would give HTC in the UK a call to try and find out a bit more about the event.
I asked a number of questions about the expected large turn out. The event is strictly a non-ticketed affair and will be a first-come-first-serve deal. So if you want to get in, I suggest you turn up early. The guy from HTC said that there wouldn’t any need to camp over night, but to just make sure your there before doors open.
The Facebook event page mentions a few freebies:
We will also have a few phones to give away to attendees!
I asked about this, to which HTC replied:
We like to keep some things secret.
I also asked if everyone who gets in will get a phone. Unfortunately the answer was no, this will not be on the same scale as Google-IO with the Evo 4G.
The whole event sounds very promising and it is brilliant to see HTC getting to closer to their UK customers.
I will be heading down to the event to report back for TalkAndroid.com. If anyone else is planning on making an appearance, please leave a comment below.

We’ve been hearing for quite some time that release dates for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 on Canadian carriers was set for September. The big three, Bell, TELUS and Rogers have all confirmed an inevitable launch but no dates were set by any. Rumors suggest TELUS will launch on Sept 16th but, we now have the above information which suggests a Rogers release one day earlier on the 15th. We’re assuming the $999.99 price point is just a Future Shop place holder so, nothing can be said about official pricing from this information. We’ll be sure to keep you all updated though as we find out more information. So, who’s grabbing a Torch on launch day in Canada?
